Our inspiration: making a difference through music

Music for the Minds was born from a collective desire to enrich the lives of others. We are a group of passionate individuals committed to making a positive change, using music to connect with others in British Columbia. Our journey is driven by the belief that everyone deserves access to the healing and unifying power of music.

Bringing joy and building connections at no cost

What makes our approach special is our unwavering commitment to our community. Music for the Minds is a completely volunteer-based initiative, dedicated to bringing music and joy without any cost to our clients. We utilize music-based approaches to create meaningful bonds and significantly improve the quality of life for those we serve, fostering a sense of belonging and happiness.

We hope to foster connections, build meaningful relationships, and improve well-being through our music therapy-based initiative. Our core values revolve around compassion, community, and the profound impact music can have on human connection and quality of life.

Bella Endersby

Founder and President

Bella Endersby is a grade eleven student. She is the President of the Earl Marriott Secondary Music Council, where she leads her team in multiple activities, fundraisers, and events. Bella is the co-founder and lead trumpet player of the jazz group The Jazzy Cats, plays the trumpet in two school ensmebles, and plays three other instruments on the side. Since her early childhood, Bella has done an incredible amount of volunteer work, from being a daycare teacher to acting as a Crew Member for Variety the Children's Charity's Boat for Hope, an event to support children with developmental delays. Finally, Bella is the founder and president of Music for the Minds, where she blends her love for music and passion for helping others.

Wenshu Ding

Vice-President

Wenshu Ding is a grade eleven student who is passionate about music, advocacy, public speaking, and community involvement. She is experienced in working with children with developmental delays and wishes to create a community where every individual is learning, growing and thriving. Wenshu has been immersed in music since the age of five and is actively involved through her school's Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Music Council. Beyond school, Wenshu is involved in the community in numerous ways, including holding the title of Miss White Rock 2025 and the Youth Representative in the City of White Rock's Economic Development Committee.

Morgan Pritchard

Secretary

Morgan Pritchard is a grade ten student who enjoys the thrill of balancing academic achievements with community volunteer work. He is driven by empathy and a commitment to helping others. Above all, Morgan hopes to make the world just a little bit better every day.

Chloe Hui

Social Media Manager

Chloe Hui is a grade eleven student passionate about all things musical. She adores playing piano and exploring new interests while staying busy and productive. Chloe plays in her school's jazz band and a community band outside of school, mastering the baritone saxophone in both ensembles.

Adam Lenk

Head of Marketing

Adam Lenk is a grade eleven student. He has had a strong passion for music since he began his artistic journey at the age of five. Additionally, he plays both trumpet and violin is his local orchestra and has participated in numerous performances. As Music for the Mind's Head of Marketing, Adam applies his creativity and ideas to help grow the organization's reach and connect with the community.

Neer Guglani

Head of Community Outreach

Neer Guglani is a grade eleven student in Surrey, BC. For his entire life, Neer has been immersed in music, learning about how it can bring individuals together, uplift spirits and support personal growth. He also has a passion for supporting his community, which is showcased in his volunteer work with Elections Canada and the Surrey Youth Stewardship Squad. Neer is grateful to be part part of an initiative that spread positivity and connection.

Annette Forbes

Head of Design

Annette Forbes is a grade eleven student in Surrey, BC. She is the Head of Design for both the Earl Marriott Music Council and Music for the Minds, where she works in offering creative advice, fabricating promotional material, and providing decor for events.

Kai Nagel

Member

Kai Nagel is a grade eleven student of Earl Marriott Secondary. He is an artist as well as a community advocate, passionate about creativity, performance and leadership. Kai plays the violin, the alto saxophone, the guitar in the different ensembles; in addition, Kai sings in the Vancouver Youth Choir, a world-renowned youth choir. Finally, he is the co-founder of the youth jazz group the Jazzy Cats, leading performances and collaborating with fellow musicians.

Addison Giles

Member

Addison Giles is a grade ten student. She is the co-house manager of the Earl Marriott Theatre Company, where she runs ticket selling and and ushering. Musically, she is skilled on the trumpet and the tuba. Addy finds joy in helping other in any way she can, whether that is an assistance or solely listening to them speak their minds. Addy believes that music can bring people together and help form deeper bonds and connections with the world.

Ailee Kirby

Member

Ailee Kirby is a grade eleven student at Fleetwood Park Secondary. Ailee is a passionate singer, guitarist, and musical theatre enthusiast. Ailee's wishes nothing more than share all of the amazing aspects that the performing arts have to offer with the community.

Thenuli Ruwanpara

Member

Thenuli Ruwanpura is a grade ten student at Earl Marriott Secondary. She is incredibly passionate about making a difference in her community. She is skilled in multiple instruments, including the flute and the piano. Taking part in the Music for the Minds initiative allows Thenuli to connect her creative side to a cause that is close to her heart.

Chelsea Huang

Member

Chelsea Huang is a grade ten student with over a decade of musical experience, currently holding her ARCT in harp performance. She has been a member of the Vancouver Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra since 2013, and also plays the flute, trombone and piano in five different school-based ensembles. Finally, Chelsea is incredibly passionate about sharing music with her community, performing in settings to bring joy and comfort to others.

Madeline Poole

Member

Madeline Poole is a grade eleven student passionate about all things musical. She has been performing for over seven years on a variety of instruments, including the flute, the piano, and the violin. In her spare time, Madeline loves to write, read, and play sudoku.

Lucy Prior

Member

Lucy Prior, a grade eleven student, believes strongly in the power music has to connect and empower people. As a singer-songwriter, Lucy expresses herself and processes the world around her through music. Whether she is playing, singing or listening, Lucy views music as a constant source of joy and purpose. When she isn't performing or playing, Lucy enjoys creative writing, theatre, ice skating and spending time with family and friends. 

 

"I do think that music therapy is a really great thing... I noticed that [my daughter] actually did try to play [the piano]. She didn't actually succeed, but it was just the idea of pressing down on the notes, which I think is really great."
